MS Ride For the Cure

In case you hadn't heard, this August (28th and 29th to be exact), my buddy Jason Lehmer and I are doing the MS Ride for the Cure. This is Jason's second year of the big ride, and my first. The ride is appropriately titled "Cruise the Cornfields 2010" and winds through 75 miles (one-way) of cornfields, for a total of 150 miles in two days..

In order to get ready for the ride I've decided to start riding the bike to work daily. This morning was my first road ride of the year (all previous bike time was on a stationary) and I did pretty well, eight miles in forty minutes. Not exactly my target time, but I've got time to work on it. The only problem with the ride this morning was halfway through I looked down at the nutbar, and realized I forgot my bike lock. Had to sneak it into the office, so I hope nobody notices.

If you want to help out a great cause, click here and donate whatever you can. Anything and everything is appreciated! If you'd like to join Jason and I, and my brother Adam when he gets off his can and registers, drop me a line and we'll get you on the team.

I'm riding for Meghan Charters and Sue Seiter. If you know someone with MS and want them added to the list of people I'm riding for, let me know in the comments below. I'm working on a custom jersey, and will be adding those names to the jersey, all on my own dime. Just a little something to make the ride more personal. Thanks for reading!

Yeah, I've posted this before, but damnit, I love this version. It makes me laugh.

Happy Anniversary

Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad! You are obviously doing something right to be together this long. Here's to many more!

So Long Old Friend

Through good times and bad, you've been there.
Once in a great while, you were there in excess, but not very often, and never in front of the kids.
If I added up what I spent on you over the years, I could probably buy a REALLY nice car.
I enjoyed your company so much, I even started to make my own.
Then, my oldest said I have to much of you.
Carmen said I didn't, and not to listen to him.
Unfortunately, I can't un-hear what he said.
That statement was enough to make me leave you.
It won't be tough, because I don't need you to function.
I'll miss you on those warm summer nights.
Cold winter days.
And anytime in between.
Sure we shared some good times, and one day we may meet again.
But hey, my kids come first.
So until that day, if and when we meet again.
So long old friend.

I've Been Workin' Man!

Lately I've been logging a lot of extra hours working on side-projects. Some I can talk about, some I can't. One I can talk about, and couldn't be happier with the way it turned out (and how the client reacted when they saw it) was Tish's Restaurant website. Before I redesigned the site, it had the hours, a few pics and their address. Now, it has photo albums, an embedded menu via Scribd, Social Media integration, and an interactive map for customers to get directions to one of the best local owned restaurants in town. For all you FourSquare users, Tish's is now listed on FourSquare, so get down there and try to steal the Mayor position from me....if you can! Be sure to follow them on Twitter as dinner and drink specials only available on Twitter will be coming soon. Anyway, check out their site and let me know what you think.

Happy 420

Happy 420 Day Frankites. Insert obligatory chips joke here. If you are unsure what "420" stands for, Google it and prepare to laugh.

CoCo on the Road-Road

Fan posted clips of The CoCo on his comedy tour are hitting the internets and going viral, so I thought I'd share my favorite one. Enjoy!
